When I found the pattern Esjan by Stephen West, I knew immediately what I would do with my luxurious Araucania Azapa, waiting on my shelf for so long. From the beginning, it would’ve become a tunic, but some other yarn lover nicked my skeins that I forgot to pick up from the store. Perhaps it was just as well. 🙂
This is a really large and lovely shawl, just what I love! The pattern is nice, though the repeats are written in a awkward manner. The lace portion was slightly tough on the hands; maybe it’s just me, but to purl 2 together through the back loop so often on such thick needles really wasn’t nice!
Large, warm and cozy! If only the Azapa yarn hadn’t released so much fibers on the clothes!
